Apartment Notting Hill
In the heart of Notting Hill, this project involved the thoughtful extension and transformation of a London apartment to accommodate the evolving needs of a young family. A father approached us with a clear and tender brief: to create a serene bedroom for his daughter and a joyful, open living space where the children could grow, play, and relax.
To achieve this, we opened up the existing floor plan, removing several internal walls to establish a generous and inviting living area. The result is a light-filled space that feels both expansive and intimate — a central hub for family life, carefully balanced between comfort and elegance.
Colour and texture played a pivotal role in shaping the atmosphere. We used vibrant, expressive wallpapers by Pierre Frey throughout — bold prints that add personality and a sense of narrative to each room. The living area features playful, layered tones, while the daughter’s bedroom on the upper floor is a whimsical retreat, complete with its own newly created bathroom. Here, too, Pierre Frey’s distinctive wallpaper helps transform the space into something both imaginative and deeply personal.
This project is a testament to how thoughtful design can adapt an existing home to meet new needs — adding warmth, character, and joy through spatial clarity and expressive detail.
