Chiemsee

This is an extension of an old cottage, architecture by Max von Werz, this project involved the sensitive extension of a traditional stone cottage. The goal was to create a contemporary living space that honors the original structure while introducing a minimalist, open-plan environment tailored to modern life.
The design embraces contrast and continuity. The new volume sits in dialogue with the old stonework, its clean lines and restrained material palette providing a subtle counterpoint to the cottage’s rustic character. Large openings frame the surrounding landscape and flood the interior with natural light, creating a seamless flow between inside and out.
